Leon, the chameleon is a fashionista ! This small and elegant  lizard has a love for dressing up. With numerous outfits in his possession, he has an ability to change colors and blend in with his surroundings no matter where he hangs out in the lab that day.
His obsession for changing outfits is so outrageous that during the holidays he kept switching colors every two minutes just to match the holiday  light decorations in our lab!  But despite his extravagant obsession , Leon is a rather shy celebrity. Let's just say he hates paparazzi and being the center of attention. He just prefers hanging out in a corner watching flies passing by...His special eyes can rotate and focus separately to observe two different objects simultaneously! In effect, this special ability gives him a full 360-degree arc of vision around his body!!!!!With his supervision he can see small insects from a very long distance! When he gets hungry, which happens pretty often, he will rapidly extend out of his mouth the longest tongue you have ever seen and capture anything that passes by.... Once he grabbed a glass flask from the lab's desk and almost ate it!

Spencer, the gerbil
350,000 wild points

Spencer is a gerbil that comes from the far away desert of Mongolia! An architect by trade this smart and sociable rodent has built countless underground housing facilities in Mongolia applying his usual technique of constructing networks of tunnels, which include different size chambers. He has a passion for Swiss architecture and is a fan of the architects Herzog and Demeuron, and their project at the Beijing National Stadium. In his free time, Spencer loves to dance. His long tail helps him balance when he stands up on his hind legs and hops around on his large back feet.  Spencer also loves hanging out under a  palm leaf on a hot day and sometimes tans under the sun. His furry legs protect him from the heat of the sand and his full-body fur, including the tail, prevents him from getting sunburned. Finally, Spencer loves throwing a party as long as everybody helps him clean-up afterwards. He is what we would call a 'clean freak'; he has absolutely no tolerance for dirt and dust!

Fuzz, the penguin
150,000 wild points

Fuzz is a newly born Emperor penguin that lives on the floating ice packs of Antarctica that are threatened to melt due to climate change. He belongs to the tallest and heaviest of all living penguin species, even though he is pretty small at the moment since he hatched out of his egg only a month ago! Covered by a dense layer of woolly down, Fuzz loves hanging out under his mother's wings. Soon an overlapping coat of feathers will grow over his down layer and Fuzz will be covered in a greasy waterproof coating. This coating will keep the water off his skin and help him to retain heat.  When his feathers grow he will be able to do more of what he loves the most- ice skating! The truth is that his species is known to be most at home submerged since they can remain under the water for up to 18 minutes, diving to a depth of 1,755 ft, and yet clumsy on land...Nevertheless this youngster is born to be an ice-skating champion and has already won everybody's hearts with his graceful double flips on ice. Fuzz is available for adoption through WWF and due to the temperature restrictions of your classroom would remain in his natural habitat in Antarctica.
